August is a big month in my family; three of my brother’s four daughters all have birthdays.. When I was younger, I remember it being one of my favorite months because of the festivities of having four parties (one for each girl and one large party for everyone to come to) and last month of freedom before I had to go back to school. Now, August is National Back to School Month! Are you going back to school? I wish the returning students and new students the best of luck in the coming quarters/semesters! I was reminded over the weekend that it’s never too late to go back to school; just be true to who you are and follow the beat of your own drum.
As a way to get everyone back to basics and in the spirit of returning to school, we welcome Catherine E. Bennett, Esq., of Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, to speak on Legal Style And Using Style Guides on August 8, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the Petroleum Club. We hope you’ll join us! Our August Community Affairs opportunity, KCPA is collecting cash donations to benefit The Kern County 999 Foundation, an organization whose mission is to recognize and honor Kern County’s fallen peace officers who gave their lives ‘In The Line of Duty’ serving the citizens of Kern county, and provide support to the family members left behind. Cash donations will be accepted through August 8.
