June’s President Message

June—The last month of the term for our current board; the Board this year has been exceptional.  I’m really glad to have had everyone that served with me—a special thank you to each of them:

¨ Karen Clemans, Vice-President;

¨ Bobbie Miller, Treasurer;

¨ Erica Alajarin, Secretary;

¨ Nancy Boles, Programs/Education;

¨ Shontice Yates, Member Services;

¨ Sasha Gadberry, Newsletter Editor;

¨ Kristen Foster, Community Affairs;

¨ Jennifer Rodges, CAPA Primary;

¨ Leslie Larson, Public Information; and

¨ Katy Karcher, Student Representative.

Please join me on June 12, 2014 to recognize these paralegals for their service in their roles on the 2013-2014 Board of Directors.  Our luncheon will be held at Coconut Joe’s!

I’d also like to introduce to you the 2014-2015 Board of Directors:

¨ Bobbie Miller, Vice-President and CAPA Primary;

¨ Katy Karcher, Treasurer;

¨ Amber Brewer, Secretary;

¨ Sasha Gadberry, Programs/Education;

¨ Michelle Dunn, Newsletter Editor;

¨ Shontice Yates, Member Services;

¨ Kristen Foster, Community Affairs;

¨ Erica Alajarin, Public Information; and

¨ Whitney Radcliff, Student Representative.

We’ll be swearing-in our new Board members during our June luncheon as well.

We’ll also be recognizing our Sustaining Members for the 2013-2014 year, in addition to announcing our Paralegal of the Year, Outstanding Member of the Year, and Scholarship recipients.  I hope you will join us for this luncheon!

On a side note, I can’t believe it’s already June.  I was talking to my fiancé last month and he said we’re always doing something, there is something going on every month it seems like; I said “well, we do have a holiday every month…” Of course, the only holiday I could come up with June was Flag Day—I forgot about Father’s Day! – but it’s true—there is a holiday of some sort every month that keeps us running around!  But, I wouldn’t change it for a thing—it keeps us at each other’s families’ houses.
