I’d like to congratulate Cathy McDonel of Jennison & Dodds for receiving our 2014–2015 Paralegal of the Year award! (Also a big thank you to Pat Jennison for the… heartwarming speech. )
I’d also like to congratulate Kristen Foster for receiving the complimentary CAPA Educational Conference admissions as well as the 2015 Jennie D. Conner Scholarship.
We have our first luncheon on July 9, 2015, which is our Free Member Luncheon held at Klein, DeNatale, Goldner. Cathy Bennett and Jim Duncan of KDG will be speaking on Client Confidentiality in a Not–So Confidential World. I have seen this presentation before and it’s very informative and crosses all practices. I hope you join us for the luncheon. It will offer one hour of ethics MCLE. The Community Affairs event for July benefits the Kern County Heart Gallery and we will be accepting cash donations to benefit their organization. We will also be accepting checks (please make payable to KCPA and designate in the memo line that it is for the Community Affairs event).
July is the beginning of our fiscal year and that means its time to renew your membership for the upcoming year. We have included a copy of the current membership application for your use—please return them to Shontice Yates.
I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July and a wonderful summer!
Always,
Makala E. Reha, ACP
